Tights Are Not Pants
Remember when I posted that video of Arkells singing “You Make My Dreams” with Lights? AND HOW I LOVED IT SO FREAKING MUCH?
Well, she came out to sing it with them on Wednesday night at the CNE! I guess I shouldn’t have been so surprised because she lives in Toronto, but I was already seeing one of my beloved bands. What more could I ask for?! Needless to say I flipped my shit when she came out and got a bad quality video of the whole thing. It was the best surprise ever :D

Soo this happened. :D
I realize famous people tweet at randoms all the time, but this is my first time and it feels pretty cool. I love you, Lights♥!

Yesterday, Arkells released their second album, Michigan Left. I’ve already tweeted about it and written a facebook post about it, but I can’t stop! The album starts off really well with 'Book Club', ‘Where U Goin’, and the title track. All three songs are upbeat and catchy. Listen when you’re in a bad mood, and I swear my hometown boys will cheer you up. The rest of the CD delivers with the extremely popular single, 'Kiss Cam', fan favourite ‘On Paper’, and ‘Whistleblower’. The rest of the songs aren’t just fillers, either, but these six are probably my favourites. Six favourites out of ten tracks total is definitely something!

Lights recently came out with Siberia. The album is her signature electro-techno-synthesizer pop sort of stuff, but it’s noticeably different from her other music while still being very Lights, if that makes any sense. I haven’t had a chance to give this album more than a once over, but I really love 'Toes', ‘Banner’, 'Siberia', and ‘Heavy Rope’ so far.

I don’t buy CDs very often, but I am extremely glad that I bought both of these. Not only are they both great albums, but it feels good to support amazing Canadian musicians.
